Studying abroad in Australia
Hi, I’m Aya. I’ll tell you what I did at Sunshine Coast grammar school for the first 2 days.
The first day, I was a little bit nervous. The other 3 Japanese exchange students (Yuto, Seiha, Natsuki) also looked nervous. Yuto and I are in the same class. I met a lot of students who are my buddy’s friends. We spent recess and lunch time together. That was so fun because I was able to talk a lot with girls my own age. When I was taking Christian Education class, some boys sat near me and we introduced ourselves to each other. They were surprised by my electronic dictionary. I had a conversation with Yuto, Natsuki and Seiha about today when we finished all the classes. They looked like they enjoyed their day too. I was so happy that we all had a nice first day at school!!
The second day, I had Visual Art class. I feel that this class is more creative than Japanese art classes. We chose one of the 17 SDGs and designed one piece of clothing based on it. I am not good at drawing but I enjoyed it. Also we had HPE class and Food Technology class. HPE is Health Physical Education (taiiku). We played volleyball and it made me feel very tired. After HPE I had Food Technology class with the Year 9 students, I enjoyed this class. These students were very friendly and talked to me and Yuto a lot. We learnt that they like Japanese food especially sushi, gyoza and ramen. We also spent a nice time together.
